In the past, Maarten van der Velden, owner of breeding sow farm Veva, was mainly busy coordinating the construction of a new piglet house and growing his farm in animal numbers. Over five years ago, the turnaround came and the international pig farmer decided to focus more and more on sustainability: solar panels, heat recovery and manure processing. During the construction of the new piglet house, it was therefore decided to take the step towards heat recovery. Together with Inno+, the Asten-Heusden-based pig farmer concluded that implementing an air scrubber and heat pump could be very interesting for his business.
